Thirteen women have done something both terrifying and necessary. We stood up to say that the way things have been in Grand County cannot continue. It is not easy to speak when silence has always been safer, but we are choosing courage over comfort because respect and reform matter more than our fear.
Discrimination takes from you in quiet ways. It strips away confidence, trust, and the sense that you belong. Each of us has lost some part of ourselves in that way. But by standing together, we are trying to reclaim what was taken and to build something better for those who come after us.
This effort is not about money. It is about restoring dignity, demanding accountability, and reminding our community that decency should never require bravery. We are raising funds to help cover remaining legal fees through the Sloan Law Firm so this case can stay local, with someone who knows this place and the people in it. The County will be asked to pay only what remains after donations, keeping our damages low and our purpose clear.
Your support whether through a donation or by sharing this message, helps keep this effort grounded in integrity and hope. When small communities face their failures with honesty, they set examples far beyond their borders. What happens here can ripple outward, showing that change is possible when ordinary people refuse to be quiet about harm.
If you believe in fairness, in kindness, in the power of a few voices to move an entire place toward the light, we ask for your help.
Donations may be made directly to Sloan Law Firm on our behalf at 76 S. Main Street, Suite 1, Moab, UT 84532 or via Venmo @Christina-Sloan-Moab “on behalf of the thirteen complainants"
